Ilanit, 15, is in 9th grade. She comes on time to school, is prepared, and is highly motivated to excel in her studies. A laptop – so necessary in middle school these days – would help her achieve her goals.

Ilanit lives with her mother; her parents divorced when she was six. Her mother works occasionally as a cleaner or cashier but psychological issues make it hard for her to hold a job. The two rely almost exclusively on the child support that Ilanit’s father pays monthly.

This barely supplies their daily needs, and cannot be stretched to cover a computer.
