Batya, 40, is a caring and diligent mother, doing all she can to take care of her son’s many needs. Lior, 2, has Downs Syndrome and a host of accompanying medical problems.
Batya supports the two of them on her salary as an aide in a Town pre-school. But she often can’t work because Lior is frequently sick and has many doctor and therapy appointments. She needs to be available for him because the two have no other support and nowhere else to turn.
The doctor believes that hydrotherapy treatments could be of great benefit to Lior, but the national health care program does not cover them and the cost of the therapy is beyond Batya’s means.
