Hearing Aid for Doron

Total Cost - USD 1,071
Still Needed - USD 0
Funded - USD 1,071

Doron is almost 80. In Russia, he held a position as an academic; now in Israel for 25 years, he is retired. Doron and his wife rely entirely on their old age pension, and have no family support. He has a list of medical problems but insists that he is managing fine – Doron does the shopping, some of the cooking, and supports his wife in their apartment.

But of late, his hearing has deteriorated. This has had a negative effect on his spirits and his outlook on life. A hearing aid would make things much better for him; giving Doron the ability to hear again would also allow him to continue live his life as he has been doing.

But hearing aids are expensive, and despite being highly subsidized by his health plan, Doron cannot afford even his personal contribution for such a purchase.
