Gym membership for Ezra

Shira, 51, is divorced and the mother of six children. Shira suffered years of physical and emotional abuse at the hands of her ex-husband. Unfortunately, the couple’s children witnessed many of these violent episodes and grew up in a terror-filled household.

Both Shira and her children have undergone intensive therapy since the divorce. Social services has accompanied them through the rehabilitative process, as Shira tries to rebuild her life.

Ezra, Shira’s 15-year-old son, is a lovely, introverted young man. He, like his siblings, is trying to move forward with his life. He desperately wants to join a gym in order to lose weight, build physical strength and be in an active, non-threatening social environment. Unfortunately, Shira cannot afford the cost of membership. With some help, Ezra can thrive once again.
