Maya, 46, and her son, Ivor, 26, live in a small public housing unit. Maya cannot work because of chronic depression, so her only income is her national insurance benefit. This is too low to cover even their most basic needs.

Ivor worked hard to create his own business but when it failed after a few months, his mental state crashed as well. At the moment, he is not working and his mother is very worried about him. Adding to their stress, the refrigerator in the apartment has stopped working and it is beyond their means to pay for a new one.
