Fridge for Batsheva and her kids

Total Cost - USD 720
Still Needed - USD 332
Funded - USD 387

Batsheva, 59, and her husband separated because of his violence – physical, verbal, and emotional – towards her. They are in the process of getting a divorce but for many years he has refused to give her a “get” (Jewish bill of divorce), making it impossible for Batsheva to move on with her life.

The couple has six children, ranging from 35 (divorced, with a child) to 16, five of whom still live at home. Batsheva tried to work as an aide to the elderly, but her health problems – anemia, dizzy spells, and frequent fainting – have made it impossible for her to hold a job.

With little income, she has been forced to bring home things that she finds in the streets to meet her family’s needs. They live in a state of constant crisis. All of their electric appliances have failed, but Batsheva cannot afford to buy new ones. The family’s social worker has turned to Ten Gav to purchase a fridge immediately.
