Fridge for Adam
Adam is a 68 year old man who suffers from severe diabetes. His diabetes has caused strokes and interferes with his ability to manage his day-to-day activities. As a result, Adam can no longer work. Without an income, he relies on his old age pension, which he sometimes cannot stretch to cover his food or medicine.
Adam has two grown children in Israel but they too struggle to make ends meet and as much as they would like to help him, they do not have the means with which to do so.
His refrigerator has been broken for a long time and Adam needs a new one. Adam has no way to chill or freeze food, and he can’t afford for anything to spoil, so he buys only shelf-stable products. If Adam had a refrigerator, he would be able to eat a proper diet and take better care of himself.
