Fold-out couch for Shira and Avi
Health problems keep Shira and Avi from working full time. Even part-time work is a stretch, but they need the income. Avi, 56, works in a store, while Shira, 53, is employed as an aide to the elderly. They have four children, ranging from 35 to 18, two of whom still live at home. Until recently, the couple shared a youth bed that was far too small for them. It is now broken as well, but Shira continues to sleep on the less unstable part of it. Avi now uses the broken couch in the living room. Their bedroom is too small for a full-sized bed, but a couch with a fold-out bed could be the perfect solution. Unfortunately, Shira and Avi cannot afford the expense.
