Computer for Naomi
Naomi, 22, is trying to make her own way in the world. She is alone, with no outside support. Naomi’s father died when she was two, and her mother, when she was 11. Naomi briefly lived with her mother’s aunt, after which the State sent her to boarding school. Naomi completed high school with success, and then served in the Army as a lone soldier. Since then, she has been working as the educational director on a kibbutz; although she was laid off during the Corona crisis, she expects to be rehired soon. The position requires her to plan programs, write reports, prepare participants for further education and more. All of these tasks require the use of a computer. Naomi had one, but it no longer works. After paying for her apartment, food and utilities, Naomi has very little money left at the end of each month; certainly not enough to buy the computer that will make her job possible.
