Computer for Mira

Total Cost - $ 476
Still Needed - $ 0
Funded - $ 476

Mira, 21, is an inspiring young woman. One of nine siblings, Mira was raised in an ultra-Orthodox home. Her mother is disabled and receives a monthly government stipend, and her father works as a bus driver.

As a child, Mira suffered severe burns from hot oil. She was hospitalized for months, is still physically scarred and receives ongoing annual care.

Two years ago, Mira was diagnosed with severe anemia. She requires out-patient hospital care once a week and, as a result of her condition, she received an exemption from performing her National Service.

Mira receives no financial support from her parents. She works full-time as a supermarket cashier and is also taking a bookkeeping course simultaneously. Mira is motivated, hard-working and determined to build herself a stable and independent future.

Mira’s most pressing need right now is a computer. She currently does all of her coursework on her cellphone which is not a feasible, long-term solution. Mira dreams of pursuing an academic degree in the near future, at which point a computer will be vital as well.

This is a young woman with the drive and ability to succeed. With our help, she will be one step closer to fulfilling her dreams.
