Bed for Vered

Vered, 60, is a divorced mother of two grown children. Vered lives alone and suffers from severe physical ailments. She cannot perform the slightest physical activity without using an oxygen tank. She cannot walk without the aid of a walker and has chronic back and leg pain. Vered lives on the fourth floor of a walk-up building so she is pretty much stuck in her apartment, day in and day out. She lives off of her monthly disability stipend and a supplementary government stipend.

Currently, Vered is sleeping on a bed made up of a simple wood base, a few thin, youth-size mattresses and some cartons. Needless to say, her sleeping conditions are aggravating her back issues, and she cannot get a decent night’s sleep. Nobody deserves to live this way but unfortunately, Vered cannot afford the cost of a new bed.
