Clothing dryer for Idit and Yosef
Yosef’s situation is heartbreaking.
Yosef, 75, lives in a tiny apartment with his wife Idit and their son, Ron, who is an alcoholic. Yosef’s other two children live far away and offer no support.
For years, Yosef worked for the municipality. Idit, who suffers from psychological issues, has never worked outside of the home. Today, the couple survives on a monthly government stipend.
Unfortunately, Yosef’s physical condition has deteriorated drastically over the past few years. Social services has been incredibly helpful to the family, organizing a renovation of their dilapidated apartment and arranging for a home health-care aide.
Both Idit and Yosef have serious issues with personal hygiene. Yosef’s aide has to constantly change his soiled clothing and linens. While she has been an incredible source of support to them, she struggles to keep up with the amount of laundry the couple produces.
Because their apartment is so cramped, there is barely any space to hang the laundry to dry; if Yosef and Idit could get help buying a dryer, their quality of life, along with their aide’s, would greatly improve.
