Bunk beds for Shira and Leon’s children
Shira, 42, and Leon, 43, immigrated to Israel from France three years ago with their five children (ages 5-15). In France, both Shira and Leon worked full-time and made a decent living.
Today, Leon has opened his own shop selling insoles; he is struggling to succeed, mainly due to language issues. Shira, who was a lecturer and jurist in France, is now working as a daycare assistant. At the same time, she is taking a bookkeeping course, with the hope of finding a more lucrative position.
Shira and Leon are a very upbeat, positive and motivated couple. They are determined to build a stable life for their children here in Israel.
The family lives quite frugally in a small, tidy apartment. There isn’t enough room for full- sized beds for the children, so they are sleeping on fold-out cots. If Shira and Leon could get help buying bunk beds for their children, everyone’s quality of life would vastly improve.
