Beds for Ziva’s children
Ziva, 40, is making every effort to make ends meet. Divorced, she is raising three children (ages 6-16) on her own. For the past 12 years, Ziva has worked at the same job. Her salary is extremely low and even with a recent raise, she is now earning only 31NIS/hour. To make matters worse, her son recently broke his leg, resulting in Ziva missing many days of work. In addition, she had to do two rounds of quarrantine due to Corona exposure. As a result, her monthly income has plummeted even further. In addition to all of her daily expenses, Ziva is also trying to pay off debts that she has incurred over the years. Right now, her financial situation is rather dire.
When Ziva was very young, a wrongful medical action resulted in severe damage to her vocal cords. The injury led to a significant loss of self-confidence and as a result, Ziva has felt very vulnerable when considering a career move. Recently, however, Ziva joined a social services program that helps impoverished families improve their circumstances. She is hoping to break her cycle of poverty and improve her family’s lifestyle. In the meantime, Ziva desperately needs new beds for her children. Her daughter is currently sleeping with herin the same bed, and her two boys share a pull-out sleeper. At the very least, these innocent, growing children deserve a good night’s sleep.
