Beds for Revital and Efraim
Revital, 45, and Efraim, 50, are struggling to raise their eight children (ages 1-16) with dignity.
After Revital did two years of National Service and Efraim did three years of army service, they both adopted an ultra-Orthodox lifestyle. Efraim worked as an electrician until an accident left him with a leg injury that prevented him from continuing to work. Until today, Efraim suffers chronic pain and takes regular medication.
Revital was working as a medical secretary but stopped working when she started having children. She also suffers from physical ailments that require medication and prevent her from working outside of the home.
After Efraim’s accident, the family’s financial situation spiraled downward. Today, they try to survive on Efraim’s disability payments, a monthly government subsidy and rental assistance. They have debts to repay and struggle to make ends meet.
The family currently lives in a cramped three-room apartment. The apartment is being sold, and they will soon have to find new housing.
In the meantime, Revital and Efraim’s bed is broken, and they desperately need a new one. A good night’s sleep would certainly go a long way towards improving their quality of life.
