Beds for Ravit and her children
Ravit, 43, recently got divorced and moved into a new apartment with three out of her four children (ages 7-15). Ravit’s 11-year-old son has been diagnosed with autism and needs extra care and attention.
Ravit herself was an only child and was orphaned at a very young age; she was raised by her grandparents, who have since passed away. She is truly on her own.
For many years, Ravit worked as a dental assistant; now that she has moved towns, she is looking for a new job. In the interim, she is supporting herself and her children on a monthly government stipend and on her son’s disability allowance.
The family’s new apartment is minimally furnished. Ravit and the children are sharing one old, unstable pull-out bed with mattresses that don’t fit.
Unfortunately, Ravit cannot afford to buy new beds. If she could get help covering the expense though, there is no doubt the family’s quality of life would certainly improve.
