Anat, 47, and Natan, 48, are raising their eight children under very trying circumstances. Due to various disabilities, neither Anat nor Natan work. Natan’s situation is especially severe, as he suffers from cardiac issues and diabetes. He was also badly injured in a car accident years ago and has been unable to work since. The family of 10 lives off monthly government stipends.

Recently, Anat became involved in a social services program that helps women find a professional path. She is hoping to find a job soon and contribute more to the family’s income. In the meantime, Natan’s physical state has deteriorated and a good portion of the couple’s money is going towards his medical needs.

As a result of Anat and Natan’s difficulties in parenting and their dire financial situation, a few of the kids have been sent to boarding schools. The children who are still at home share old, broken beds. If the family could get two pull-out beds, they could save space and allow the children a good night’s sleep.
