Bed for Chaim
Chaim, 48, had a very difficult and unstable childhood. He moved from boarding school to boarding school and was exposed to drugs at a very young age.
Eventually, Chaim became a drug addict and spent a sum total of 25 years in prison. He would use drugs, get arrested, do jail time, get released and back on drugs; the cycle would repeat itself over and over again.
Chaim is now living in his brother’s apartment and supporting himself on a monthly government stipend. He is about to enter a hospital rehab program and is determined to start life afresh.
While Chaim makes every effort to get back on his feet, he desperately needs a new bed as his is completely broken. Though he can’t afford this expense, there is no doubt that a new, sturdy bed would go a long way towards improving Chaim’s quality of life.
