Bed for Bella

Bella’s life has taken a turn for the worse. Divorced with two adult children, things have never been easy for her. Bella suffers from numerous physical and emotional ailments, including fibromyalgia, hearing loss and depression.

Until a few months ago, Bella worked as a caretaker but, on the advice of her doctor, she had to quit her job. She now lives off her disability stipend. This low sum has to cover her numerous medications, her hearing aid and her basic day-to-day needs. To complicate matters, her son, who is a drug addict, is currently living with her and needs her support as well.

Bella’s bed is old and broken, and she can longer sleep on it. Unfortunately, however, she cannot afford to purchase a new one. This is a woman who lives in constant physical pain, and a good night’s sleep is vital to her well-being..
