Ayelet, a single mother with a six-year old daughter, is a full participant in a program that teaches women to be independent; she is learning parenting skills, financial management, and how to stand up for her rights, and receives career counseling with the goal of earning enough money to support herself and leave the cycle of poverty.

So far, Ayelet, 30, has gained the confidence to move out of her mother’s home and rent her own unit. Ayelet works full time in a day care, but her earnings are too low to cover her needs. She is managing to pay her rent, but she does not have enough money to buy her daughter a bed.
