Air conditioner for Ruth and Samuel

Ruth and Samuel don’t have an easy life, but they try their hardest to get by on their own.
Samuel, 61, finished nine years of schooling, worked and then completed his full army service. Samuel has a multitude of health issues, including obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure. He also has some cognitive delays, as well as slurred speech and trouble with personal hygiene. Samuel has worked at several jobs over the years but has been unable to hold a steady position.
Ruth, 54, immigrated from Russia at the age of 26. Over the years, she worked as an aide to the elderly and as a cleaner. Unfortunately, Ruth can no longer hold down a job due to health issues. Both she and Samuel now receive a monthly disability stipend.
Ruth and Samuel barely have enough money to make ends meet. They are quite proud though and try not to ask for much help. Social services is aware of their situation and assists in whatever ways they can.
Ruth and Samuel’s most pressing need right now is an air conditioning/heating unit. With their various medical conditions, the extreme heat and cold are difficult to withstand. They have never been able to afford the expense, but there is no doubt that an a.c. unit would greatly improve their quality of life.
