Academic Tuition for Etty
Etty dreams of becoming a special education teacher. Having spent the last several years at home taking care of her children – four out of five of whom are developmentally delayed or autistic – she has a lot of practical experience in the field already.
Etty finished high school but did not go to university. Unable to work because she is caring for the children, the family has little money. Her husband has a disability that prevents him from earning any meaningful salary.
Etty would like to enroll in an introductory course in the field of special education. However, Etty and her husband cannot afford to pay the course tuition, as it is an extra, and they can barely stretch their budget to cover the necessities. Etty’s social worker believes that the course can help her manage the challenges her children face as well as provide the first step toward her dream of working in special education.
